Gajpal S G - India-based accomplished singer, songwriter and producer

Gajpal S G

India-based Accomplished Singer, Songwriter and Producer

When India-based Gajpal S G, accomplished singer, songwriter and producer began searching for the ideal recording microphone for his music, he realized early on that landing on the ideal mic would be a process. He begins, “I was in search of an entry level mic that would produce great results in recording vocals and some acoustic instruments. I performed an exhaustive search across the internet and found several artists recommending the MXL770.” Bolstered by the first-hand opinions of other independent musical artists, he decided to give the 770 a “trial run”, and suffice to say, he is more than happy with the results. “Since 2020 I have been using this MXL770 and I’m totally loving it. I use the MXL770 mostly to record vocals along with my acoustic instruments, and to sample some cool sounds I make in the studio. The dynamic range offered by this mic is outstanding, along with the flat response. It easily provides vivid postproduction color to the sound.

MXL770 Home Studio Recording

Residing in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh, Gajpal was initially inspired by his father to pursue music throughout his childhood, and reflects upon the influence his father provided as he continues to explore various music genres in an effort to create his own, unique sound. He continues, “Throughout my childhood, my father took the time to educate me about music, which included teaching me how to play instruments. He taught me how to become an independent artist, and his influence is what drives me today to become truly independent and produce my best music.” While India is known globally as a culinary tapestry of exotic flavors, Gajpal realizes his homeland possesses a rich heritage of diverse music, and it is an opportunity he wants to take advantage of. “In India we have a broad range of unique musical flavors across the country, with many new  sounds emerging on what seems like a daily basis. This creativity in music, along with a trend towards independent studio work and recording, has helped independent artists, such as myself, produce our best work.”  With equal parts of inspiration, diverse culture, and tonal clarity from the MXL770, Gajpal feels his dream of creating his own signature sound is well on the way, and MXL is proud to play a part in his success
